In 2019, Aditya Kumar from Bihar not only cracked JEE Main, he also cracked NEET, AIIMS and IISc Bangalore’s admission test – all without coaching. Interestingly, various studies and analysis of the JEE Advanced results suggest that as many as 35 to 50 per cent students who qualify the examination did not take coaching. Talking about his success, Anshul shared that he had initially joined the coaching classes but soon dropped out as the strenuous hour left no time for him to study. Instead, Anshul relied on his school and his self-study regimen. Anshul Kumar, another IIT JEE rank holder (Rank 64) of the same year had ditched coaching centres as they took a lot of time. In an interview, Ankit has sworn by the effectiveness of self-study and had confirmed that he had never been to a coaching institute. For him, the self-study was the only success mantra.
