Youre assuming that your monitor runs at the same rate as a DS. d3doverrider doesnt sound like it would work with a program that doesnt use d3d, anyway. This glitch isnt tearing, and triple buffering doesnt fix it. Gamers that care about this dont make up 100% of gamers. Gamer's dont make up 100% of desmume users. I already tried different Desmume versions and using currently v0.9. Is this a common problem on NDS emulators? Is this solvable? Thanks in advance.
My drivers are all up to date and I dont have this problem on other emulators like in Snes9x and visual boy advance. PC 2: processor Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66 ghz Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit and Windows XP 64-bit ( partitioned hd) PC 1: processor Phenon II X6 1090T 3.20 ghz
I tried playing it on: Windows 7 64 bits, Windows 7 32 bits and Windows XP 64 bits and on 3 different computers and the same thing always happens: Before it hits exactly 5 seconds, the screen just moves as smooth as milk, and then it stutters very quickly, and then it turns smooth again for more 5 seconds. I already activated the limit frame rate and vsync options, but when Im running in my bicycle and the screen starts to move, I noticed that always after a 5 seconds interval, the screen will stutter, like skipping 1 frame, no matter what I do it will always happen. The problem is: I want to play with vsync enabled and frame rate capped at 60 fps (my monitor refresh rate is at 60hz too).
If anyone could help me with these problems, I'd very much appreciate it.Im playing Pokemon Black and the fps is just fine, around 80-132. Now I'm in disbelief as emulating the PSX version almost seemed foolproof at this point in time.
I am only trying to emulate the PSX version because although I have the PC version as well, but I simply can't get it to work with Windows XP, no matter what patch or anything. Moreover, the original CDs work in the original Playstation and Playstation 2 with no sort of slowdown, so the CDs are in fine shape (I will be away from these systems, so that's why I'm trying to make this work on the laptop). I read that one possible solution is making/obtaining an ISO for the game, but I simply do not have the space for this alternative. I AM using the original FF7 CDs for Playstation. This is a year old laptop with what seems to be a more than capable graphics card (NVIDIA Geforce Go 7800) and a modern CD-R/DVD drive. It's specifically the opening FMV and transitions where slowdown occurs (the slowdown is much worse for the FMV, and again the built-in sound is chopped up).Īs far as specs go, I'm not sure what to specifically post. When the game is, say at the beginning mako reactor within the same screen or battle, I get absolutely perfectly graphic and sound emulation. I am fairly convinced this is a problem with the CDROM plugin or something along those lines. I tried SaPu, Peops, and some other one, at all kinds of different settings that I tried myself or read about elsewhere. Well, the default one seemed to work best, although that's not saying much. It's relatively minor since I CAN play the game, but since other people have been able to perfectly emulate this I'd like to as well.Īnother point is the CDROM plugins. Secondly, in game there will be annoying slowdowns when events happen, such as entering a new screen or going into/out of battle. To be specific about the sound though, it is just the sound embedded in the FMV, the in-game audio music that plays over this opening FMV plays without being choppy it is however stretched out due to the FMV moving so slow. I managed to get the sound working but it is very choppy, as is the video.
However, I have a few problems that really bother me and I'd like to take care of.įirst, the intro movie (and by extension probably all of the FMVs in the game).at first there was no sound from the FMV. I downloaded ePSXe 1.6, tried many different plugins, and seemed to find success with Pete's OpenGL2 2.8 and Eternal SPU. Hi, this is clearly not the first time anyone has had trouble emulating FF7, but I've run into a dead end.
